More Unk For Your TrunkMonday, December 16, 2002
Big thanks to Unkie Ross for stopping by Sunday evening and hanging out for a bit. Unsure of when we'd see each other next, we decided that last night would be a good night to exchange us some XMas gifts.
Since we're both so hip and cool and underground, we had each gotten the other David Cross' Shut Up You Fucking Baby!, a 2cd set of David Cross' live comedy tour act thing. I highly recommend it. Unless you are queasy about language. In that case, I'd say that maybe you should skip this one. The thing about the exchange is this: neither of us had mentioned to the other that this 2cd set even existed. We were trying to hide it from the other and then spring it onto the other one and get the "Oh, Shit!" response. Hee. We, um, didn't succeed there. Also: Ross and his lady friend bought me an acoustic guitar! WTF? How the F?! Hee. So I'll be picking away at that and driving Lindsay crazy all over again. Great gift and very unexpected. He also bought me a year's worth of Spin magazine (that kid!) and loaned me his pristine 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System, complete with all his games, controllers, guns and love. Boy that boy rocks. Also: He's a really nice boy. Also: He sometimes smells of fear. Okay. He doesn't so much smell of fear. Did you know that bees and dogs can smell fear? You would if you'd have watched Jerry Maguire. More on the Nintendo situation: Lindsay has been so excited to get a Nintendo hooked up. As soon as she saw that Ross had brought his up, you could just see her face light up. "Can I hook it up?!" It was like a kid at Christmas in 1988. Hee. Just today at lunch, as I walk in the door, she's ignoring the boiling pasta and playing Super Mario Brothers 3, all snuggled up in a chair. Hee. It was so cute. Would it be humanly possible to hook me up with a more perfect match for me? A really cute girl that likes to watch basketball with me, loves to play video games and makes me happy pretty much all the time... sounds about right to me! Right. So back to last night: Ross and I hogged the machine. Nice of us. But, you know, his machine and all. We had some, uh "great" Pro Wrestling battles -- well, at least as great as Pro Wrestling can get. We also ran a game of old old school Tecmo Bowl, the football game that gives you 4 offensive plays to pick -- meanwhile the defensive player picks one of the four, and if they pick your play, you have no chance of going anywhere. Ross kicked my ass 14-7. Sweetness was not so sweet, as LT and the Giants nefarious D stuffed anything I could run. Good times. T-Wolves related post is more-than-likely for tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by! Eric |
