Bedroom of TransitionMonday, July 1, 2002
Guess who's 27 in 4 short days? Yes, folks, that's right. Me. I was born on the same glorious day (not year, Good Lord, not year) as my uncle Ron (who I really miss) and... Huey Lewis (of he and the News fame).
Me? 27? Yes. Crazy. I know it's hard to believe. At least I don't act 27. Are you looking to buy me a gift? Well, friend, first off, really, you shouldn't! Really! However, for you persistent bastards out there, feel free to check my Amazon.com wishlist. Lots of fun things on there, that's for sure. And cheap, too! You can buy me used shit and I'll still be happy! I'm easy! Drink Recipe: One shot Creme de Cacao One shot Creme de Banana One shot Vodka Cream, Milk, Half and Half or Soy Milk (whatever) to taste Stir it up and serve over ice. Makes for a fun Friday night, I can tell you that much. Lindsay and I are making even more (echo: even more! more... more...) progress on our house projects. It feels like we're slowly but surely finishing one big thing after another. Woo hoo! This weekend, we more or less completed the Bedroom of the Future. In fact, our new kickass Select Comfort bed is all set up, everything is painted, all the window treatments are up and the crazy retro clock is up. Motherreaders, guess what? It is now the Bedroom of the Present (BotP). *Cue the Hallelujah Music* The main problem with the BotP? Well, today was the first work day that I've had to get up for while sleeping in the BotP. With the bamboo roman blinds all the way closed and the dark khaki tabbed curtains closed, the room is very dark. Please note that in the BotP, if one forgets to set one's alarm clock, one can sleep in quite later than one should. In this case, one must hope for an animal, a dog, if you will, that will be capable of waking one up, so that one can call in and apologize and frantically prepare for work and then drive really really fast to work so that one is only two hours late and no later then talk to one's boss and ask what one can do to "fix the situation" and find out that one's boss is very cool and understanding about the whole situation and one can now sit here and laugh or giggle about one's previous predicament. However one will have to stay at work until 7pm now. Please note that. The only things left to do in the BotP: texturize the ceiling and find and install a nice new light fixture. Next up is the Den of the Future -- and it's going to be so me. Rock! Eric |
