Chef VouzFriday, June 28, 2002
Damn straight those French classes are paying off. I get to say things like "Vouz". Thank you Misseur Walczychacyhch!
So what was I talking about? Oh yeah, last night A&E ran a biography on Chef Paul, Paul Prudhomme. What a great guy! Now I want to visiti N'awlins just to eat at his restaurant, K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen. The food looks fabulous! It's so cool how much he's helped so many of his chefs to get their own restaurants. He seems like such a great, genuine guy. He's just such a great success story overall. How he came from very little to do so very well... Lins and I used to watch his show on PBS every day. Good Cookin, Good Eatin and Good Lovin! Wednesday night, Unkie Ross came up to go to a rock show with me. Unfortunately for our asses, the show got moved to a new venue and an earlier time. Of course we didn't know about it until Ross was about 15 minutes from my house. Yay! Normally we're both semi-fanitical about checking to make sure all the plans like this are all in order before committing to the hour and a half drive. So instead of a rocking good night, we had a really good hangout night. It was the first time we'd been able to just hang out and talk in a few months. It felt good to catch up on a lot of what has been going on. I took Ross to Blue Nile, the Ethiopian restaurant in the Riverside area of Mpls. Yum. I liked. Unkie Ross' first time at such a joint. Unkie Ross liked. It was all good. Yesterday was Designstein's Tenth Anniversary. To celebrate, our CEO -- the guy that wrote, produced and did the song Funkytown -- rented a yacht on Lake Minnetonka. We cruised the lake from 11-3, complete with an open bar. Tanqueray and tonic? Yes, please. The whole thing was actually quite a bit of fun. I'm normally very weary of work outings outside of work settings (hence, they're work outings), but this was fun. The mood was right, the weather was nice. Good day for it. Afterwards I went home and took a nap. Damn I needed one, too. Unkie Ross kept me up late the night before. It was worth it though, Unkie. I'm just teasing. In public. Hee. Today is a half day, peoples, so I'm half gone already. Half gone. Lins and I hope to see Minority Report this afternoon. We've both heard good things. We'll do a matinee so that we can save a little money! Hee. Wheeeee! I can't believe how many measures I take to save money nowadays. I used to be horrible with money. Absolutely horrible. Now I'm saving and investing and trying to find ways to not spend as much on stuff. It's a big turnaround for me. Hee. That's all I've got for now. Thanks for shopping! Eric |
