Ninety Eight Point FiveMonday, April 15, 2002
This morning, on the way to my car, something on my hand didn't feel right. I did a finger check, to make sure they were all still there -- they were. So then I looked closer. I noticed something... peculiar. On my left hand, my middle finger still had a long fingernail. The rest had been clipped Saturday. Those of you that know me, know that I am nothing, if not meticulous. How I went over 24 hours with 9 trimmed nails and 1 untrimmed monstrosity, is beyond my level of comprehension, which, lately, doesn't really say much.
I hope that someone, somewhere read that paragraph and understood all of it. Someone. Somewhere. It is hot today in the MPLS. 85 degrees. The (I hate to say it so soon!) air conditioning in my office isn't on yet, and there is no outside air circulation, so basically I'm roasting in my own tasty juices at this point in the day. I'm drinking lots of water, but when I do, I have to get up and walk all the way to the water cooler, which drains me for the next 35 minutes. It's a rough life, friends. I've got it rough. Yesterday, however, was an absolutely gorgeous day. Yum. I played hoops and lounged around and soaked up the one day of spring. It was great. As far as hoops go, I'm thinking that I'm already ready to go to the park and run in some games there. I'm a little bit inconsistent with my shot, but that'll come soon enough. I'm touching the rim when I jump, but still just barely. The good news about that is that I haven't lost very much at all from last year. Since it's getting warmer, Lins and I decided it was time for Bailey, our female Jack Russell Terrier, to have her summer coat. We've gradually staged it over the last week. We stripped her coat a little bit each night, each time ending up with a 4 inch snowball size ball of fur -- the dog has hella amounts of hair. And now, she's nearly all the way trimmed and she looks so incredibly cute. She looks like a little puppy again :) She's so tiny and cute! I'll have to get a picture of her looking all cute (did I mention tiny?) for the site. Oscar, our male JRT, doesn't really get a summer cut. His coat is pretty thin to begin with. Plus he doesn't really seem to shed that much. Man I love my dogs. Well, that's what passes for a post nowadays, I suppose. I'll try to add less and less insight each time, and as time passes, I'll become the recap machine that you all truly love. Love you! Eric |
